Stories of Recovery

Reflections from clients and families supported through our concierge care.

New mom, while recovering

I began my journey when I decided to seek help for what felt like a roller coaster of eating disorders. I came to you with poor body image, restricting & binge eating behaviors, and a history of bulimia. My eating behaviors came after a long, traumatic medical history, which ultimately led to a poor relationship with food and a lack of trust within my own body.

You helped me realize that this work is so much more than food. Through diving into vulnerable topics and feelings, I was able to process through the feelings that I was covering up by coping with food. You helped me nourish my body, my mind and my soul. You have forever changed my life in ways that I never saw possible, helping me successfully recover and gain my voice back.

For over 2 decades, I was stuck in a restricting / binge cycle that I saw no way out of.  I would over exercise, force myself to do workouts I hate, and hated every single thing about my body.

Working with you helped me completely change the way I feel about food.  I stopped feeling crazy around food, and food thoughts no longer consume my days.  You taught me that intuitive eating is way more than just food; it’s self care, it’s enjoying life, it’s finding new confidence, it’s learning new things, it’s empowering.  You also helped me shift my weight obsessive goals, to body acceptance and appreciation.

This program changed my life.  Learning to listen to my body and learning how to nourish it with foods that make me feel my best has made my life so much better, and I am so grateful to you for helping me overcome my disordered eating, and showing me there’s a much, MUCH better way to live.

I am so grateful to have the opportunity to work with you!  I struggled with bulimia throughout my mid-late teens and early 20's, and more recently in my late 20's and all my 30's, my ED has transitioned to binge eating.

Since beginning our work together, I have significantly decreased my binge eating behaviours. You helped me believe that food is not the enemy, which has dramatically decreased my thoughts and feelings about food. I appreciate the holistic approach to healing, and I feel a sense of peace and calmness every time I connect for our sessions. ...my only wish is that I had found you sooner. :)

What Makes This Work

Recovery is most sustainable when care is continuous, relational, and deeply personal.
Our approach has always emphasized:

  • Integrated, collaborative care — providers who communicate and plan together.

  • Individualized pacing and support — meeting each person where they are.

  • Relational healing — prioritizing trust, safety, and connection.

  • Real-life integration — supporting recovery within everyday routines and environments.

  • Family involvement — empowering caregivers with tools and ongoing guidance.

This is the philosophy that has guided our work for years — and the same philosophy that now shapes our Concierge Recovery offering.
